Since 1984, Shri Anil Shrikishan Makariye has remained actively associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party and has played a significant role in strengthening the organization at various levels. His political journey is marked by dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the party’s ideology and public service.

A Journey of Electoral Success and Public Trust
A defining milestone in Shri Anil Shrikishan Makariye’s public life came in 2010 when he was elected as Corporator (Nagar Sevak) from Ward No. 17 – Aurangpura. In a politically challenging constituency, he secured victory by a narrow margin of 68 votes, marking an important breakthrough for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the area. His tenure focused on civic development, public welfare, and strengthening citizen engagement.
The trust of the people was reaffirmed on 15 January 2026 when he once again emerged victorious with a decisive mandate of 3,046 votes. This remarkable victory reflected the confidence citizens placed in his leadership, development work, and continued commitment to public service.
Transforming the Commercial Heart of the City
Among Shri Makariye’s most significant achievements is the Aurangpura–Gulmandi–Tilak Path Road Widening Project. This landmark initiative transformed one of the city’s busiest commercial corridors, improving traffic flow, accessibility, and urban infrastructure. Executed with the support of traders, citizens, and civic authorities, the project continues to benefit thousands and stands as a lasting symbol of his development-oriented leadership.

As Chairman of the Standing Committee, Shri Makariye today holds one of the most important leadership positions in the municipal administration.
